England Women 3-2 Netherlands Women

Ella Toone's late winner kept England's UEFA Women's Nations League hopes alive on Saturday, as the Lionesses beat the Netherlands 3-2 at Wembley.

England needed to win the match to keep their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive, and they made a bright start.

However, the Netherlands took the lead against the run of play through a fierce strike from Jackie Groenen in the 21st minute.

The visitors doubled their lead just after the hour mark when Lineth Beerensteyn tapped home from close range.

England refused to give up, however, and pulled a goal back through Lauren James in the 72nd minute.

Alessia Russo then equalised for the Lionesses in the 83rd minute, before Toone grabbed the winner in the 90th minute.

The result keeps England in contention for a place in the semi-finals, and they will now face Switzerland in their final group game on Tuesday.
